About
Co-founder, performer & trainer at Palistone where Hoba Hmidan is a multi-talented artist born in Nablus, Palestine, with a passion for dance, circus arts, and social activism. His journey began at the Nablus Circus School, where he honed his skills and founded the renowned performance group "The Brothers."
Driven by a desire to blend tradition with contemporary expression, Hoba has dedicated himself to creating innovative art under challenging circumstances, navigating the complexities of occupation in Palestine. He leads workshops for children and adolescents in schools and refugee camps, using dance and circus arts as tools for empowerment and self-expression.
In 2019, Hoba became involved with Stereo 48 in Ramallah, a groundbreaking company merging contemporary dance with traditional Dabke, aiming to challenge societal norms through artistic collaboration. His collaborations extend globally, including partnerships with renowned theatres and dance companies in Europe and the United States.
Hoba's commitment to social impact led him to work as a consultant for the GIZ CPS Parkour-Climbing Project in Ramallah, where he tailored sports programs for children in refugee camps, fostering physical activity and social development.
In 2023, Hoba relocated to Berlin, where he continues his artistic endeavours and supports initiatives like the Cabuwazi Circus School, using circus arts as a means of integration for refugee children and advocating for youth empowerment.
Today, Hoba is actively involved in Berlin's artistic scene, serving as a choreographic assistant for innovative circus projects and contributing to Company 101Concrete in Potsdam. His journey is a testament to the transformative power of art in creating social change and fostering cultural exchange on a global scale.
